Angela S. Adams, MASCL, CHPC
President and CEO
As a versatile executive, business consultant, and certified high-performance coach, Adams has leveraged a growth mindset while serving in various top roles including chief communications officer, chief diversity officer, and vice president of community relations where she successfully led marketing communications, brand, and culture as an enterprise-level executive. She is known for creating impact across complexly structured organizations effectively building and reshaping capabilities to ensure they thrive in dynamic environments. From strategic planning to operational excellence, Adams champions performance, adaptability, innovation, and resilience.
Adams has extensive board governance experience, currently serving on the Board of Regents for the Universities of Wisconsin, The Legacy Foundation Advisory Board, The Friends of Plum Board, and The Milwaukee (WI) Chapter of The Links, Inc. Previous board appointments include Froedtert Hospital, AALAM Board Chair Emeritus, Sherman Phoenix Foundation, and Professional Dimensions Board Chair Emeritus.
Adams obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida A&M University and earned her master’s in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University.
Blaque Robinson
Executive Assistant to the President and CEO
Blaque Robinson is a Milwaukee native with more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit and academic sectors. A first-generation college graduate, she earned a B.A. in Sociology from Rice University and a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Blaque began her career with EMERGE Fellowship in Houston, TX, before returning to Milwaukee to serve as a Grants Manager at Public Allies Wisconsin. She went on to support multiple nonprofit organizations in grant writing and fundraising roles, building a strong background in advancing mission-driven work. As Executive Assistant to the President and CEO at AALAM, she now contributes to organizational operations and leadership initiatives that support the organization’s continued growth and impact across the Greater Milwaukee region.
Kaitlin Thomas
Director of Strategic Planning and Development
With more than 17 years of experience across corporate, nonprofit, and community-based organizations, Kaitlin brings deep expertise in organizational strategy, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise-level planning. Her background spans corporate communications, marketing, sales, operations, and community relations, enabling her to bridge vision and execution across complex organizations.
As Director of Strategic Planning and Development at AALAM, Kaitlin leads the organization’s long-term strategic planning efforts. Her responsibilities include oversight of fund development strategies, impact measurement, and grant reporting—aligning organizational goals with resource growth to ensure AALAM is well positioned for its next chapter of impact and sustainability. She will focus on strengthening strategic alignment, cultivating corporate and philanthropic partnerships, and advancing data-informed approaches to measuring and communicating impact.
Kaitlin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and serves on the Board of the National Centers for Learning Excellence – Head Start Program in Wisconsin.
Ahriyan Adams
Communications Manager
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Ahriyan Adams is passionate about using communication to connect, empower, and inspire change within her community. A proud Florida A&M University graduate with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Business Administration, she draws on six years of U.S. military service that shaped her commitment to purpose-driven leadership and impact.
Ahriyan launched her career in public relations and communications across corporate, nonprofit, and community-centered spaces. Previously at Pfizer, she led impactful global DEI communication initiatives that elevated the company’s inclusive culture both internally and externally. Motivated by her commitment to contribute to the city’s growth and amplify voices within the community, returning to Milwaukee was both intentional and personal.
In her current role, Ahriyan advances the organization’s mission through strategic communications, storytelling, and brand visibility. She develops integrated communication frameworks that engages stakeholders while reflecting unity and collective leadership across Milwaukee.
Mona Fowler
Leadership Program Manager
Mona Fowler is currently the owner and operator of Fowler Intentional Growth Resources LLC (FIG Resources LLC). FIG Resources LLC offers public speaking, training facilitation, development programming consulting as well as leadership and career support via assessments and coaching. Formerly the executive development director for Molson Coors Beverage Company, Americas.
Mona possesses over 25 years of experience leading, supporting and/or coaching supply chain, HR, IT, and sales teams, including C-suite leaders, during her tenure working for Corning Inc., Unilever HPC, and Molson Coors. Her experience includes fostering engagement and performance by leading the design and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion and development strategies. A sought-after training facilitator, mentor, and coach, she has experience managing million-dollar budgets.
Mona prides herself as a lifelong learner. She received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and holds several certifications including SHRM-SCP, Hogan, Emergenetics Advisor and Nutrition Counseling. She is currently working on achieving an ICF Coaching Certification. Mona grew up in East Point, Georgia. She enjoys reading, cooking, and dancing. Most of all, she loves spending time with family and close friends.
Margaret Arney
AALAM Consultant
For 15 years, Margaret led the AALAM Leadership Program with its founder, Dr. Jeanette Mitchell and a talented team. She has worked for more than 30 years in the non-profit sector as a program developer, fundraiser and teacher. In November 2024, Margaret, leadership program Cohort 3 alumni, was elected to represent Wisconsin’s 18th Assembly District. She is an active community leader in Wauwatosa, WI continuing to serve as District 2 Alderperson (2022-2026).
Margaret taught as an adjunct professor in the Department of Social Work at Concordia University Wisconsin. At the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, she helped to expand philanthropy among women of color and shape a social change agenda. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, Master of Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, and a Certificate in Applied Gerontology from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her passions include positive social change, leader development in communities of color, and service to the elderly. She is the proud mother of a college-age daughter and lives in Wauwatosa, WI with her husband.

Michael Morgan
Chairperson of the Board
Michael L. Morgan is currently a management consultant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the former University of Wisconsin System (UW), Senior Vice President for Administration and Fiscal Affairs. Prior to his work at UW, Mr. Morgan served in the Cabinet of Wisconsin-Governor Jim Doyle. First as the Governor’s principal advisor on tax policy, as Secretary of Revenue, and later as Secretary of the Department of Administration. Additionally, he served as the Assistant Milwaukee County District Attorney, Commissioner of the Milwaukee Department of City Development, and Program Related Investment Officer for the Helen Bader Foundation.
Mr. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Arts-Communication Arts and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Board, Milwaukee Turners, and Big Ten Conference Advisory Commission.
Mr. Morgan is a former Wisconsin Badgers running back and member of the 1978 Chicago Bears.
Chris Behling
Board Member
Chris Behling is a business leader, father, coach, artist, and a member of the Executive Leadership Group at Northwestern Mutual. He currently serves as Head of Insurance Sales, overseeing life, disability, annuity, and long-term care sales. Since joining the firm in 2021, Chris has held multiple executive roles, including Head of Underwriting and Risk Selection, and serves as executive sponsor for the African American Employee Resource Group and Belongingness & Inclusion Committee within the insurance function.
Previously, Chris led Life & Health Products across the Americas at Swiss Re, where he was Chief Underwriter and global portfolio owner for the world’s largest mortality portfolio. His career also includes executive leadership roles at Equitable, healthcare services leadership as President of Mollen, and founding and scaling Hooper Holmes Health and Wellness into the nation’s largest onsite biometric screening provider. Earlier, he co-founded and sold LifeSource Executive Benefits and Insurance Services, a national life insurance brokerage.
Chris holds a BA from Albion College and a master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School. Outside of work, he is a devoted father to his two adult daughters, Cali and Lola, and an avid music fan and artist.
Tanya Hines
Board Member
Tanya Hines has more than 30 years of global leadership, commercial expertise, and transformational impact. As Vice President of Commercial Excellence at Samuel, Son & Co., and Founder and CEO of Hines & Associates Consulting Firm, Tanya has built a career leading Fortune 500 and privately held companies across manufacturing, non-profit, media, and consumer goods sectors.
Her leadership journey includes senior roles with Procter & Gamble, Johnson Publishing Company, Johnson Controls, and Clarios, where she developed and executed strategies that strengthened sales, operational systems, and organizational culture—driving growth in multi-billion-dollar businesses.
A Milwaukee native and proud Marquette University alumna, Tanya is also a dedicated civic leader. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and has previously served on boards for City Forward Collective, the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, Marquette University’s College of Business Administration, and INROADS, Inc.
Recognized as a pioneering executive and advocate for equitable leadership, Tanya is passionate about empowering women and youth to access opportunities that drive excellence and impact.
Dr. Syneathia LaGrant
Board Secretary
Dr. Syneathia LaGrant is a distinguished expert in human resources, adult learning, talent management, and leadership development, with over 20 years of experience. She has excelled in managing global teams and developing innovative programs for multinational organizations such as MolsonCoors Beverage Company, Fiserv Inc., and Johnson Controls, Inc. At ManpowerGroup, Dr. LaGrant spearheaded the talent and development function driving enterprise-wide capability building, leadership development, succession planning, culture, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategies across various brands and regions. Currently, Dr. LaGrant serves as a trusted HR advisor and partner to the executives, along with their respective teams. Her strategic insights and guidance have been pivotal in shaping the HR landscape.
Dr. LaGrant’s holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University, a Master’s in Adult Education from Alverno College, and is a proud member of the Vanguard Society. She earned her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, where her dissertation, titled “Beyond Belonging: Identifying Critical and Conflicting Factors in Women’s Career Progressions,” explored the profound impact of a sense of belonging on women’s success trajectories in large organizations.
A dedicated community leader, Dr. LaGrant serves on the boards of the Marcus Center for Performing Arts, Alverno College Board of Trustees, the African American Leadership Alliance of Milwaukee, and All-in Milwaukee,
contributing her expertise and passion to these esteemed organizations.
Dr. LaGrant is married to Robert and is the proud mother of Brendan and Marcus, balancing her
professional achievements with her commitment to family.
Kyle Lindberg
Board Treasurer
Kyle Lindberg, vice president, logistics and customer care, of Rockwell Automation, has over 15 years of experience with both small and large companies in various roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kyle also has an Master of Business Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Antoine McDuffie
Board Member
A Milwaukee native with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Antoine McDuffie serves as Director of Financial Risk Management at Baird, where he has spent the past 17 years. In this role, he leads financial risk oversight, directs a data and analytics team, and drives talent and inclusion initiatives within the Risk Management department. His career also includes roles at Wells Fargo and Harley-Davidson.
Dedicated to advancing community and youth development, Antoine serves as Board President of the Urban Ecology Center, Board Chairman for his church, and a member of the planning committee for the SecureFutures Investment Conference. He is passionate about promoting financial literacy among Milwaukee youth through his volunteer work with Junior Achievement of Wisconsin and SecureFutures.
Antoine holds a B.S. in Economics from Purdue University and is an alumnus of the African American Leadership Program (Cohort 7) and the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School of Business. He holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
Milika Miller, PhD
Board Member
Dr. Milika Miller is a lifelong Milwaukee resident and nonprofit leader with more than 20 years of experience in administration, operations, and data-driven decision-making. As Vice President of Operations at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, she leads the organization’s internal operations—including gift processing, grants and scholarship administration, process improvement, IT, data governance, and facilities.
Since joining the Foundation in 2019, Dr. Miller has guided key initiatives such as the revamp of the scholarship portfolio, a major enterprise IT system transition, the relocation to ThriveOn King, and advancements in data management practices.
Her career includes leadership roles with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Employ Milwaukee, and WRTP/BIG STEP. Dr. Miller earned her PhD in Urban Studies and Master of Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Marquette University.
An active community leader, she serves on the boards of the African American Leadership Alliance Milwaukee and Public Dimensions, and as president of the Milwaukee chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
