Ground-breaking AALAM Professional Round Up series diversifies professional associations and creates new opportunities for Milwaukee’s Black leaders
In June and September this year, AALAM gathered African American professionals and the primer professional associations in the area to dramatically expand professional networks and boost opportunities for connections across sectors.
This initiative is part of AALAM’s Network Strategy. Its goal is to increase opportunities for African American leaders through access to vital professional networks via prominent organizations including Milwaukee Rotary Club, TEMPO, Professional Dimensions, Forward 48 & HOAN Group and the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).
By strengthening professional networks and expanding access to opportunities for career advancement, more African American leaders will be well positioned to take on leadership roles.
The AALAM Professional Round Up events are hybrid – starting with a virtual learning session where the professional organizations introduce themselves, followed by an in-person reception.
Professional Dimensions hosted the June event at Saint Kate’s the Arts Hotel. In September, Forward 48 hosted at 1727 N. Palmer Street.
Results are positive for all! Every professional association report new members and the events receive high marks for networking connections, great information and fun.
